Karli Jean Lonnquist

Artist Profile

Karli Jean Lonnquist is an award-winning theatre artist and scholar passionate about developing new theatrical works and conducting research based in the intersection of performance studies, constructivist theory, and mass atrocity conflict. She uses research and creative writing to confront, deconstruct, and dissect current social, cultural, and political issues. A rising senior at Chapman University, Karli will graduate with a BA in Theatre (Dramaturgy, Playwriting and Literary Management) and a BA in Peace Studies in May of 2026. Her dramaturgy credits include Alma (Chance Theater), Uncle Vanya (Chapman University), and Storm in the Barn (Chapman University). Karli founded and currently serves as the Literary Manager and Producer for Chapman Student Playwrights, Chapman University’s only collegiate theatre company exclusively focused on new work development.
