On the Fyda-Mar Stage…
At a small-town diner, an unexpected friendship begins to unfold in The Counter. Katie, a waitress behind the counter, and Paul, a regular customer with a carefully guarded past, form an unlikely bond through their daily conversations. What begins as a simple coffee ritual takes an unexpected turn when Paul asks Katie for a surprising favor, revealing hidden struggles, personal truths, and the hopes they both carry.
With humor, honesty, and profound empathy, Meghan Kennedy explores the courage it takes to be vulnerable and the healing that can come from allowing someone else into your world. The Counter reminds us that even the smallest acts of kindness can create lasting impact.
Tender and funny, this intimate theatrical experience celebrates friendship, second chances, and the extraordinary connections we discover when we least expect them. A warm and deeply moving play about connection, compassion, and the moments that change our lives.
